This oil painting is an interpretation of a photo that I took years ago. It is an orca whale ‘traveling’. The mountains are in Canada. I took a bit of liberty with the ocean, but many times, the water seems both dark and sparkling to me. This picture would have been somewhere off the west side of San Juan Island.
